Today, I want to show you what’s actually inside your bedding. Forget the fancy marketing; the cost and quality are determined by these 4 components:

DOWN CLUSTER (The Real Deal) Industry standards are 50%, 80%, 90%, or 95%. There is NO such thing as 100% pure down. If a brand claims 100%, they are lying to you.

Pro Tip: Anything above 80% goose down will naturally have a Fill Power of 750+.

Fact: Most 5-star hotels only use 50% down.

2. FEATHER (The Support) Feathers come in sizes: 2cm, 2-4cm, and 4-8cm.

2-4cm: Perfect for pillows because they provide support.

4-8cm: These belong in sofas, not bedding. If your pillow is poking you, the brand used cheap 4-8cm scrap feathers to save money.

3. DOWN FIBER (The "100-Dollar" Trap) ⚠️ This is the "disaster zone" of marketing. Most comforters sold under $100 are filled with this.

What it is: These are broken bits of down clusters. They have no "flower" structure.

The Nightmare: If your room is constantly dusty or you see tiny "floats" in the air, your duvet is leaking Down Fiber. It has zero warmth and creates a mess.

4. FEATHER FIBER (The Bottom of the Barrel) This is the lowest grade. It’s basically dust and crushed feathers. Some low-end products use this, but it’s honestly terrible for your health and comfort.

Stop buying based on "Fill Power" numbers on a colorful box. Ask the brand for the exact percentage of Clusters vs. Fibers.
